Robert Gouveia
Chief Executive Officer
Robert is a Senior this year at Sacramento Adventist Academy (SAA) as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Capitals Engineering robotics team. He is a very responsible and hardworking student. He can be an introvert or an extrovert, depending on the situation. During Robert's spare time, he enjoys participating in Flag Football, Kung Fu and Scuba, babysitting, and playing video games. His favorite subjects are Math and Science, and occasionally History. This is Robert’s fifth season on Capitals Engineering robotics, an SAA record!! Robert likes Robotics because of the learning process and application of real-world skills. He is undecided yet as to what field he wants to go into, but he is aiming for either an Engineering or Medical career.

Trinity Gallaher
President
Trinity is in her Junior year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. She describes herself as an “extroverted introvert”, and she’s right. Her spare time consists of robotics and homework, proof that she is totally immersed in her work. She loves Robotics because it’s fun and extremely rewarding. She enjoys the math and engineering aspects of the team. This is her second year on the team and she is already neck deep in her work. Trinity is a part of the team because, as she says, “Robotics gives a basic knowledge of Engineering and Technology, which I’ll need in any field.” She is currently the President of the Capitals Engineering team. Trinity hopes to go into Elementary Education after she’s completed high school.

Elijah Gallaher
Vice President of Operations
Elijah has just entered into his Senior year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He enjoys basketball, robotics, video games and planning vespers for his class. He considers himself a nervous extrovert and his favorite subjects are Math and Bible. He loves engineering because of the hands on aspects of the project. This year is going to be Elijah’s third season on the Capitals Engineering robotics team. He enjoys Robotics for the real-life skills he learns that he can’t get anywhere else, but his favorite part is the absolute thrill during competitions earning points in a tournament, or taking a whole round. Elijah is the current Director of Engineering. He hopes to go into a tech-based medical field.

Gil Fayard
Vice President of Finance & Director of Information
Gil is a Senior this year at Sacramento Adventist Academy and has been here for most of his academic career Amber, what do you mean by this?. He is a natural introvert, but can be very outgoing when he needs to be, in fact he is the President of the Student Association! He loves playing his trumpet and practicing Kung Fu in his limited free time. Gil likes Science, Music, and History classes at school. His favorite part of the STEM community is its broad influence and constant advancements. He joined the team last year and he is excited to be involved again this year. He is the team’s Director of Finance and Information. Gil enjoys Robotics because of the constant challenge it presents. He wishes to go into international Medicine, another good challenge!

Mary Freeman
Marketing Leader
Mary is a Senior this year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. She is the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet with a bubbly personality. She loves taking and editing pictures, watching movies and listening to music, when she can. Mary loves Geography and Photography, they’re the highlights of her day. STEM is important to her because of the opportunities it presents people to learn and grow in their favorite parts of life. This is Mary’s first year on the team, and she is the Director of Marketing. Robotics is a step towards her future career in that she hopes to go into marketing for either a sports or makeup brand.

Victoria Vang
Social Media Administrator
Victoria Vang is a sophomore at Sacramento Adventist Academy. She is introverted and shy, but an amazing addition to the Capitals Engineering team. She exceptionally good at connecting with other robotics teams and specializes in the social media aspect of the marketing team. She loves reading, drawing, and spending time on social media in her spare time. Victoria’s favorite class is art and she loves the learning opportunities presented to her in robotics. She hopes to go into a medical career, but is keeping her mind open to other options.

Martha Maranga
Article Writer
Martha Maranga is a freshman at Sacramento Adventist Academy. She is an introvert, when you first meet her, and very shy. When she has free time, she enjoys reading. Her favorite subjects are math and Spanish. This is her first year in the robotics team and she is already proving herself irreplaceable to the team. She works with the marketing branch and enjoys learning more about robotics every day. She is incredibly smart and hopes to go into the architectural field in the future. Martha’s job on the team is to write articles about what the team has accomplished and send out letters to companies.

Amber Maloof
Graphic Designer
Amber Maloof is a freshman starting her first year on the Capitals Engineering team at Sacramento Adventist Academy. She may seem shy when you first meet her, but she has a dry sense of humor, makes other people around her laugh, and is crazy with her friends. She loves writing fiction, drawing, and taking pictures in her limited spare time. Amber’s favorite subjects are English, robotics and yearbook. She especially loves technology and enjoys robotics because of the opportunity to be on a team. Most of her responsibilities entail writing articles for the website and designing posters for fundraising, things she enjoys a lot.

Charlie Miller
Webmaster
Charlie Miller is a senior and a social butterfly. He enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, and doing Kung Fu when he has the time. His favorite subjects are history, science, and anything music-related. This is his second year on the team, having also played a part in robotics during his freshman year. Charlie enjoys working within the STEM community because he thinks it’s important to educate the younger generations about STEM. He is a big part of the Capitals Engineering marketing team, being the web designer and website manager. Charlie wants to go into a marketing or business field soon.

Alan Zhang
Design Team Lead
Alan Zhang is starting his junior year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He enjoys working out and playing video games in his spare time. Alan loves all things science, including robotics of course! This is his second year on the team. He enjoys robotics because of the building elements, especially fitting the different metal parts of the robot together. Alan describes robotics as, “improving my ability to work on a team and take on my own responsibilities.” Alan is an engineering team lead, and is hoping to go into mechanical or biological engineering in the near future.

Oleksiy Korolevych
Design Team
Oleksiy Korolevych is currently a junior at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He is a quiet person, but a great person to talk to once you get to know him better. He enjoys building intricate Lego models, making paper airplanes, and outdoor activities like biking and running. His favorite subjects are history and science which he hopes to use to go into aeronautical engineering soon. Oleksiy’s favorite part of STEM is how technology is always leaping forward to solve world problems. Last year he was on the marketing team, and this year he’s decided to go into the building and design aspects of robotics.

Jacob Wegat
Design Team
Jacob Wegat is currently in his senior year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He enjoys technology more than anything, and his spare time consists of fiddling around with techy projects. His favorite subjects are math and science. Jacob loves robotics because of the incredible opportunity to build a robot with bare hands and ideas. He also appreciates how robotics brings teammates closer together. Jacob has been on the team for five seasons! Building and design is his strong suit, but he occasionally will help do some programming. He plans on using his new learned skills to go into an engineering field in the near future.

Willie Wei
Design Team
Willie Wei is a sophomore at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He isn’t very talkative, but he’s great at his job. He enjoys playing video games and watching his favorite TV shows when he has time. His favorite subjects are math and robotics, where he enjoys the calculative properties of his role on the engineering team. This is his first year on the Capitals Engineering team and he already loves it. He enjoys the complexity in building the robot and works hard to reach both his personal goals and the team’s goals. He wants to go into media production in the future and sees robotics as a step towards his future goals.

Cristiano Maynez
Programming
Cristiano Maynez is currently enrolled in his freshman year at Sacramento Adventist Academy. He loves designing, building, programming and racing drones. He can be a little introverted at times, but he is outgoing once you get to know him. Cristiano enjoys math, science and Spanish classes. He loves technology and is involved in the engineering team. He hopes to become an electrical engineer in the future, and he would be great at it. He loves robotics and is a fantastic addition to the Capitals Engineering team.

Helen Wong
Design Team
Helen Wong is a senior at Sacramento Adventist Academy. In her own words, “I am an ambivert. A perfect blend of an extrovert and an introvert.” She enjoys watching TV and playing video games in her free time. Helen’s favorite subjects are digital film production and computer science. As you can see, she is a technological whiz which makes her a great addition to the Engineering team. She is one of the engineering team leads, and hopes to go into an engineering field after college.
